Checking-in
Being budget conscious, we stayed at First World Hotel. There is a board showing what room types are currently available so you can check-in. The kiosks are quite buggy and we had to approach the staff thats stationed around the kiosk to help. Have some cash in hand to make payment for the taxes as the kiosks that accept credit cards can be buggy. For the uninitiated, Tower 1 is the nearest and Tower 3 is the furthest. Sometimes with a kid in tow, every step counts.
Convenience stores
There are 7-eleven and family mart located so we are able to buy packet milk for the little one. For other toiletries, there is Guardian and watsons which can satisfy most needs. The bottled water is cheaper at the pharmacies.
Payment
There is rarely any shop that does not accept cashless payments. Most credit cards are accepted so we can take our pick. Most importantly, we do not need to keep too much MYR cash on hand.
Skytropolis
This is a guide of what rides your child can play based on his/her height. They can be quite strict on the height requirements.
Based on this, we can then decide on whether the unlimited rides option is more worthwhile. While the opening hours starts from 2pm, some rides have queues starting before that. For unlimited rides, it is cheaper to buy ahead on their Genting app or at Klook, the price is similar.
Cinema
We also managed to catch a spiderman there, the seats are comfortable and clean so if there is time, it can be a good option to entertain the kids. The cinema only accepts CASH, this includes the cinema snack bar.
Awana Skyway
Genting Highlands - Qing Shui Temple - Awana Station (Premium outlets)
There are 3 stops on the skyway and you can get off for free to visit the temple. The temple has sculptures depicting the ten chambers of hell which allows us to take the chance to educate the kid.
Finally..
Remember to keep some plastic bags on hand in case of motion sickness. Sitting in a coach in vomit is not a good experience 🤢
